Most aftermarket filters say they meet NSF/ANSI standards, but they do not say they are certified. The LG filters say they are tested and certified by NSF against the NSF/ANSI standard. This is important, to me.

we have been using the new filter for about 2 months and I can already tell that the taste is changing from “wow” to “still better than tap”. Somehow I doubt I will be satisfied with the taste at 6 months, but will suck it up anyways to delay having to buy another one.

This was an OEM replacement for the old filter. Removing the old filter and replacing with the new one was very easy as the door holding the filter pops off and the old filer comes out with little effort and replaced by the new one.
